New Cydia review.

So, whether you knew it (or not), I have an iPhone 3G - yes, the same iPhone model that Apple is now dropping support for. Anyway; it’s been jailbroken on iOS 4.0 for a while now (considering the latest update is 4.2.1 [with 4.2.5 coming out with the Verizon iPhone]) and I was tired of my Cydia loading so slowly compared to my girlfriend’s iPod Touch 4th Generation. They both had the same Cydia version and after I updated to a (somewhat?) beta version of the newest version of Cydia - I must say it is faster than ever before. Where it took maybe 7 minutes to completely load Cydia - errors and all - the new Cydia doesn’t bother to tell you about all these errors in your face - instead it keeps it nice and hidden at top for you to view. Another thing; when it was Rock vs. Cydia, everyone chose Rock over Cydia for the speed - which was a shortcut that they were doing that may have rendered the device useless (link). The speed is legit now, cutting it from about 7 to 3 minutes (sure, you may not think that’s fast compared to my girlfriend’s 15 seconds, but it’s a LOT better). I hope Saurik pushes the final version of Cydia soon for me to enjoy.
